8. Organization Contact Directory

This is where you manage all organizations involved in your operations.

Directory Structure

Private Directory

Your internal list of:

• Freight Forwarding/Agent Organizations
• Shippers
• Consignees

All contact details will only be visible to you

Public Directory

Shared across Open Nexus:

• Claimed tenants (active organizations via the sign up flow)
• Unclaimed tenants
• This only includes publicly available information such as Company names and registered addresses.
• Click the "Add to Private Directory" Button to add an existing organization from the Public Directory to your Private Directory or click the "Create Organization" button to add a new unclaimed organization to both your Private Directory and the Public Directory.

Important Rules

• Freight Forwarding Organizations:
  • Currently must be claimed tenants
  • Are created via sign-up
  • Currently cannot be manually created in the directory
• Shippers & Consignees:
  • Can be created and managed within your directory
• About organization data in the Contact Directory
  • Unclaimed organizations: Core organization details (Organization Name, Legal Entity, Address, City, Postal Code, Region/State, Country, Shipping Roles) can be updated by any user. Changes to this core organization details (except TMS references) are immediately reflected globally in both the Public Directory and My Private Directory.
  • Claimed organizations: Are managed by an active tenant. Their public organization and location details (except TMS references) are locked and maintained by the organization administrator.
  • Private data: Contacts, TMS references, and locations (for unclaimed organizations) you add are visible only within your organization.
